Finding Strength in Hard Times

Through Faith In Jesus

Life has a way of throwing us curveballs—moments when everything seems to be falling apart, and the road ahead looks uncertain. It’s in these moments that our faith in Jesus is tested and refined. I’ve been there, and I’m sure many of you have too.

Right now, I’m in the middle of one of those tough times. My car needs to be fixed, and honestly, I’m struggling to trust that it’s going to work out. The stress of it all has been weighing on me, and I’ve caught myself worrying more than I should. But in the midst of my anxiety, my boyfriend’s dad reminded me not to stress about it. He said something simple yet powerful: “Just trust that it will all work out.”

His words made me think about how often we carry burdens that Jesus never meant for us to bear. It’s easy to forget that we don’t have to handle everything on our own. Jesus is right there with us, walking beside us through every trial. One verse that always brings me comfort is John 16:33, where Jesus says, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." He doesn’t promise a life free from problems, but He does promise to be our peace in the midst of them.

Think about the story of Job in the Bible. Job was a man who faced unimaginable loss—his children, his wealth, even his health. Yet, despite everything, he refused to turn away from God. Instead, Job held on to his faith, saying in Job 13:15, "Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him." Job’s story reminds us that even in the darkest times, our hope in Jesus can be our anchor.

Personally, I’ve had moments when it felt like everything was going wrong. During those times, I questioned why things were happening the way they were. But looking back, I can see how those hard times drew me closer to Jesus. It was in my moments of weakness that I learned to rely on His strength. Isaiah 40:31 says, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." This verse reminds us that when we put our trust in Jesus, He gives us the strength to keep going, even when we feel like we can’t take another step.

One thing I’ve learned is that hard times build our faith by teaching us to trust Jesus more. When life is easy, it’s tempting to rely on our own strength. But when we’re faced with challenges, we realize just how much we need Him. It’s in these moments that our faith grows deeper roots.

If you’re going through a tough time right now, know that you’re not alone. Jesus is with you, and He’s using this season to strengthen your faith. It might not make sense now, but trust that He has a purpose for your pain. As Romans 8:28 assures us, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Hold on to Jesus, even when life doesn’t make sense. He’s working behind the scenes in ways we can’t always see. Keep your faith strong, and remember that He’s the one who gives us hope and peace, even in the midst of the storm.

Final Thoughts:

Hard times are never easy, but they can lead us to a deeper, more genuine faith in Jesus. When we face difficulties, let’s remember to turn to Him for strength and guidance. Trust that He’s using every trial to shape us into the people He’s called us to be. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and let your faith in Him be the anchor that holds you steady, no matter what life throws your way.
